Apply standard DME distance limits Uses aircraft-to-station slant distance: 3 NM minimum and 160 NM maximum. Stricter service-volume limits still apply. Apply maximum DME elevation angle The station-to-aircraft elevation angle must be strictly below 40°. Negative angles are not rejected by this rule alone. Apply DME acquisition time A station that becomes eligible during the route must remain continuously eligible for 30 seconds before selection.
